SHOTGUN ACCIDENT KILLS LITTLE BOY

Taking Shells Out Of Weapon Ends In Tragedy

A sad accident occurred Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Stauffacher in the town of Lynn, by which their little son Glenn, aged 5, lost his life. A neighbor has called on Mr. Stauffacher to borrow his shot gun, the borrower stating that he had plenty of shells at home. Mr. Stauffacher preceded to take the shells out of the magazine of the gun and in doing this the gun in some way discharged just as the little boy ran in front of the muzzle. The full charge entered the child’s groin making a frightful wound. Dr. Rath of Granton was called and Lowe’s ambulance was summoned from Neillsville to take the little boy to a hospital but he died before reaching Neillsville. The body was taken to the funeral home and prepard for burial, the funeral taking place at the Stauffacher home on Tuesday, Rev. J. G. Buth officiating.

The deepest sympathy is felt for the parents, as Glenn was their only child. He was a bright, lively little lad, and will be sorely missed in the home.
