Miss Dorothy Kurth and Herbert Smith sprang a surprise on their friends here this week when they announced that they had been married last April at Geneva, Ill.
Miss Kurth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kurth and grew to young womanhood in this city, graduating from the Neillsville high school. She then took up nursing at Madison where she was graduated from the Methodist hospital.
Mr. Smith is the son of Col. And Mrs. W. L. Smith. He attended the Neillsville schools, the Military Academy at Delafield and the University of Wisconsin. For some time Mr. Smith was connected with the Railroad Commission appraising telephone properties and recently has been associated with his brother, W. L. Smith Jr., in managing the telephone company.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith have moved into the residence at 209 South Hewett Street. Both Mr. and Mrs. Smith have a very wide circle of friends have and in the southern part of the state who will join in extending congratulations to them.
