Tomczak, Lannie Paul (22 April 1967 – 22 May 2022) With Flag
Lannie P. Tomczak, 55, of Owen, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at
Marshfield Medical Center, in Marshfield, from injuries sustained in a
motorcycle accident.
Lannie Paul Tomczak was born on April 22, 1967, in Stanley, the son of Michael
T. and Kathleen J. (Krug) Tomczak. He was raised and received his education in
the Owen/Curtiss area. After high school, Lannie was a farmhand for local
farmers, before entering the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge, he went
to work as a drywall installer, which he did for many years, and was very good
at it. Lannie also repaired lawnmowers and motorcycles for many friends and
neighbors.
He had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family and
friends, riding motorcycles, hunting, and sports.
Lannie is survived by one son, Yukon Tomczak, of Abbotsford; his father: Michael
Tomczak of Owen; one granddaughter, Charley Elizabeth Maves; one sister, Tracy
Harbaugh of Edgar; two brothers: Dean (Vicky) Tomczak of Owen, and Duane Tomczak
of Wisconsin Rapids; two nieces, three nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his long-time companion, partner, and mother of his
children, Elizabeth "Beth" Mrotek, on December 15, 2020; his daughter, Torrie
Ann Tomczak, on April 10, 2015; and his mother, Kathleen, on July 23, 2017.
A memorial service will be held at 11.a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at St.
John's Lutheran Church in Withee. Rev. Tom Myhre will officiate, and burial will
follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Curtiss. Military rites will be
conducted by the Owen American Legion Post #123. Visitation will be held at the
church, on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
