Jackowicz, Dolores L. (10 Jan 1929 - 30 May 2022)

Dolores Lucille (Krych) Jackowicz, of Richfield, MN and Altoona, WI passed away on Monday, May 30,2022, at The Classics at Hillcrest Greens, Altoona. She was born in Thorp, WI on January 10, 1929, the youngest of 12 children of the late Agnes (Dudkiewicz) and Andrew Krych.

After graduating from Thorp High School, she lived and worked in Chicago with her sisters Kathrine, Rose, and Theresa where she met her future husband. She married Stanley Jackowicz on April 16, 1955, and together had one son, Stanley Jr. They moved to Richfield, MN where they lived for many years. Although she was the "baby" of the family, she had the strength to live through her own health issues, and the loss of her husband in 1990 and her son in 1996.

Dolores was a private and independent woman who enjoyed her quiet time but, also a good family gathering. In 2015, she moved to The Classic at Hillcrest Greens in Altoona, WI where she was a favorite with the staff and other residents.

She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her brother Edmund (Valentine) Krych and their children Tom, Janet, and Tim Krych, and Theresa Thesenvitz. She is also survived by her Wisconsin family, Donna (Panek), Erin, Cara Berdal, Kathy (Kluk) Reiner, and Sue, David, and Ed Panek. Other surviving nieces and nephews include, Dorothy (Yurkowsky) Ozga, Joan (Yurkowsky) Schultz, Karen (Krych) Druszczak, Mary (Krych) Perilla, Steven Krych, Daniel and Leonard Sumiec, Mitchell and James Grzenia, Andrea (Krych) Connolly, David and Joe Krych; cousin, Barbara (Dudkiewicz) Stautmeister, and many great nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Rose Antolec; niece Christine Kohanzo and members of the Jackowicz family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; her son, Stanley Jr.; her parents, Agnes & Andrew Krych; sisters, Theresa Yurkowsky, Ann Grzenia, Celia Sokolski, Louise Sumiec, and Rose & Kathrine Panek; brothers, Steve, Frank, Leonard, and Joseph Krych; sister-in-law, Irene Sowa, and a number of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Aunt Lor will be remembered for her quick smile and sense of humor. It seemed appropriate that she would pass on Memorial Day, because if you had the privilege of knowing Dolores, you knew she was "unforgettable." Visitation will begin at 12:00 (noon) and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on June 10th at St. Richard's Catholic Church, 7540 Penn Ave. S, Richfield, MN. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel. Friends and family may offer condolences online at www.morrisnilsen.com
