Root, Harry J. ( 26 Oct. 1889 - 1930)
Harry J. Root, 41, an employee of the Wisconsin Power and Light Company for two years, who was transferred to Sheboygan by the concern in October, died Sunday in Sheboygan.
He was born Oct. 26, 1889, in Forest, Fond du Lac County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester S. Root, now residents of Sheboygan. Mr. Root was married Aug. 3, ‘15 to Hazel Rogers of Red Wing, Minn., who survives. Besides his widow he leaves three children, Roger, Isabelle and James; his parents and the following brothers and sisters, Frank S. Root of Knowlton, Leo F. Root of St. Paul, Robert J. of North Fond du Lac, Newman at home, Mrs. Arthur Clinton of Neillsville, Mrs. Clarence Canniff of Waupun, and Mrs. Ferdinand Kohlman of Wauwautosa.
Deceased spent 16 years of his life at Neillsville, coming here with his parents at the age of 12.
The funeral was held at the residence of his parents and at St. Joseph’s Church with Rev. J. J. Collins officiating, burial being in Calvary cemetery. Frank S. Root, Leo F. Root, Newman Root, Robert Root and Edwin and Roy Rogers were the pall bearers. There were many floral offerings. Among those who attended were Mrs. Arthur Clinton and daughter Celia and Clayton Vine of Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Root of Granton.
