Anderson, Peter (20 June 1849 - 31 May 1931)

Peter Anderson, one of the old residents of this city, died at the home of his nephew, Victor Anderson on Sunday, May 31, having nearly reached the age of 82. He was born June 20, 1849, at Allingsas, Sweden. He grew to manhood there and was married in Sweden, coming to his country 40 years ago. After coming here, Mr. Anderson worked in lumber camps and for many years was employed on the section. His wife died May 4, 1916. Since then he has lived alone most of the time, recently going to the home of his nephew, where he was cared for and where he died.

Mr. Anderson was a quiet man of industrious habits and well like by all who knew him. He leaves one son John of North St. Paul, Minn., also two grandchildren, Ruth and Howard Anderson.

The funeral was held Tuesday at the Congregational Church , Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating.

Mr and Mrs. John Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. John Howard of North St. Paul and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rottjer of Granton attended the funeral. Frank Anderson, a nephew of the deceased, and his family, called on his uncle the day previous to his death.
