Scharf, Alma (Marriage - 19 Feb. 1931)
Miss Alma Scharf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Scharf, of the town of Grant, was quietly united in marriage to Mr. Celon Winter, son of Mr. Henry Winter of the town of Lynn, Thursday evening, Feb. 19, 1931, at 8:00 o’clock, by Rev. Buth, at the parsonage of Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in the town of Grant.
The bride wore a pale green flat crepe dress and was attended by her sister, Mrs. Carl Scheeler, who wore a brown flat crepe dress.
The groom was attended by Mr. Carl Scheeler.
After the ceremony the bridal couple and the witnesses attended a show at Adler’s Theater, Neillsville. Upon returning home, they were char varied by a group of neighbors and friends. The bridal couple will make their home with the groom’s father.
A miscellaneous shower was given for the newly weds at the bride’s home, Sunday evening, February 22, which was attended by about 75 people. Many useful and attractive gifts were received. Another shower was given on the couple at Arno Winters’ Thursday evening, February 26.
We sincerely wish the couple a most happy and prosperous future.
*I have connection to this family line. My uncle, Roger Winter; through marriage is the son to Alma & Celon Winter.
