Johnson, Arthur C. (8 Jan. 1921 - 27 Sept. 2004)

WITHEE

Arthur C. Johnson, 83, Withee, died Sept. 27, 2004, in Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Colby Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2227.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.

He was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Chicago to Otto and Kristina Johnson, and moved to Owen in 1922. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 during World War II. He married Vivian Tietsch in November 1951, and she died June 10, 1978. Arthur farmed and was employed at Master Packaging from 1946 to 1982.

He is survived by two brothers, Robert Johnson of Owen and Walter (Helen) Johnson of Franklin Park, Ill., and two sisters, Ruth Simons of Owen and Mary Ellen (Bill) Sohlberg of Port Angeles, Wash.
