George E Amidon (1874-June 14, 1939)
Granton--Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton for George E Amidon, 65-year-old Granton druggist, who died Wednesday, June 14, at his home.
The Masonic Lodge of Neillsville conducted the rites, and the Rev. E P Stone, pastor of the Neillsville Methodist Church, also officiated at the services. Interment was made in the Windfall cemetery.
Pallbearers were Hugh Berg, Kearney Davis, Edward Anderson, Floyd Winn, and Elmer Anderson Honorary pallbearers were Dr. R.R. Rath, H.E. Williams, Tom Wage, E.A. Beeckler, and W.L. Smith.
Relatives and friends from a distance who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Walker Hill, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Silas Amidon and son, Leonard, and son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Loren Amidon, all of Melrose; W.E. Laidlow, Mrs. Frank Long, and Mrs. William Rapp, Tawas City, MI; Mrs. Charles Coon, Gladstone, MI; Mrs. and Mrs. Charles High and son, Clyde, Winona, MN; Mrs. and Mrs. Clayton High, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bruhns, Baraboo; L.G Morris and Walter S. Morris, Delafield; and Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Smith, Madison.
