Anna M Henning (10/29/1861, after 1928)

Chili--Mrs. Anna M Henning, 63, who moved to Chili from a farm in the town of Fremont three years ago, died of a complication of ailments at 9:50 a.m. yesterday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where she was a patient since Jan. 10.

The body will lie in state at the Central Wisconsin Co-operative Funeral Home, Marshfield, until Wednesday noon, when it will be taken to the home at Chili to lie in state there until the time of the funeral services.

The Rev. S.A. Gutknecht will have charge of the rites Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Henning home and at 2 o'clock at Immanuel Evangelical Church, Chili. Interment will take place in Yolo cemetery, near Chili.

Mrs. Henning, nee Speiser, was born in Germany Oct. 29, 1861 (should be 1882), and came to America with her parents when she was 10 years old. The family settled near Monroe, moving from there to the Town of Lynn six years later.

On Dec. 5, 1901, she was married in Marshfield to John N. Henning, who preceded her in death in 1928. Since her marriage and until moving to Chili, Wis., three years ago, Mrs. Henning had made her home in the Town of Fremont.

Surviving are five daughters, Capt. Dora Henning of the Army Nurse Corps recently returned to the States from Burma and India; Mrs. Walter (Ella) Elmhorst, Chili; Mrs. Everett (Alma) Schilling, Dayton, OH; Mrs. James (Helen) Sladek, Kenosha; and Mrs. Gordon (Alice) Ritter, Chili. Three sons died.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Regler, Arpin, and Mrs. Arthur Grassman, Lynn; a brother, Rudolph Henning, Minneapolis; and four grandchildren.
