Walter Fischer (4/7/1898-Mar 1945) (yr. of death derived from age of deceased)

Chili--Walter H. Fischer, 46, who operated a farm on route 1, Chili, took his own life some time Friday afternoon in the bedroom of his home. Mr. Fischer, who had been confined to an institution previously for about eight months, used a .22 caliber rifle to inflict the head wound.

Ray Kutsche and H.L. Brown, Neillsville, Clark County sheriff and coroner, respectively, were called to the Fischer home and pronounced the death a suicide.

The body will lie in state at the Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, tonight and funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Chili, the Rev. Arthur J. Cramer officiating. Interment will take place in the family lot in the Chili cemetery.

Mr. Fischer, who was unmarried, was born at Hewitt April 7, 1898, and is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Esther) Garrison, Wisconsin Rapids, ad Mrs. Ed (Viola) Silvanus, Burlington.
