UNITY, WIS. - Jeanette Ruth Sommer, 63, Unity, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2004, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. The Rev. John Malik will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church. There will be a Christian Mother's Rosary at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Community Funeral Home of Colby is assisting the family.
Jeanette was born July 11, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Raymond and Aurelia (Flynn) Boge. Jeanette and Marvin Sommer were married June 3, 1972, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. She traveled extensively before her marriage. She worked as a secretary and then later as a housewife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening, flowers, visiting with family and friends and loved children. Jeanette was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Marvin Sommer of Unity; two sons, Eric (Cindy) Sommer of Medford, and Ryan Sommer (fiancee Beth Telford) of Colby; one grandchild and two stepgrandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Jerome (Pat) Boge of LaCrosse, Gene Boge of Taos, N.M., Kathy (Ken) Meyer of Wausau, Jim (Susy) Boge of Wausau and Suzanne Carolfi of Rangeline.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Pat Praschak.
