Grade, Fred (Oct. 23, 1849-1940)
Fred Grade, 91, died at 9:30 o’clock Sunday morning at the home, following an illness caused by a heart ailment and old age. He had been confined to his bed for the past two weeks.
The body is lying in state at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, where services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock. Another service will probably be held at the Fremont Lutheran Church, with the Rev. A.G. Diemer, Nasonville, officiating.
Mr. Grade was born in Germany Oct. 23, 1849. He lived in Milwaukee and Oconto Falls before coming to a farm near Lynn when he was 18 years old.
His marriage to Miss Ida Fiddler of Tilton took place about 61 years ago. Soon after three marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Grade moved to their present farm.
Surviving are his wife, six children, Mrs. Vincent (Anna) Lee, Neillsville; Mrs. William (Bertha) Erickson, Earl; William Grade, Lindsey; Miss Louise Grade, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Emma Payne, on the home farm; and Louis Grade, Lynn; one brother, Louis Grade, Carroll, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Kurth, Lidderdale, Iowa; 17 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
