Ruth was born on April 1, 1920 in Neillsville at the home farm to August and Ernestine (Sauerberg) Wagner. She was born a twin and her sister died shortly after birth. She grew up in the area and attended Grandview and St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from Neillsville High School. Following her education she moved to Milwaukee and was employee as a childcare provider and a secretary. She also worked in the foundry. She met her husband, Lawrence Andres through her sister Erna and they were married at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville in 1946. They moved with her sister Erna to St. Paul where her son, Michael, was born and then they lived in Stillwater, Minn. For a few years. They then returned to the St. Paul area and she worked in various positions. She did volunteer work at the Alexander House which was a battered women’s shelter. Her last occupation was a food industry. She would demo many food items for grocery stores and was very good at it. She semi-retired in 1996 and moved to Neillsville to care for her brother, Herb, who passed away in October of this year. She has been residing at their home in the town of Pine Valley until the time of her death. Ruth was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Neillsville and had been a member of New Life Evangelical Church in Shoreview, Minn. And the Good Shepherd Church, Circle Pines, Minn.

Ruth is survived by her son, Michael L. Andres of Burnsville, Minn.; three sisters-in-law; Margaret Wagner of Neillsville, Norma Wagner of Greenfield, and Margell Smith of St. Paul, Minn. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ruth was a very special and giving person who was full of energy and was even known to tell a few stories from time to time! She was the last of her twelve siblings to pass away. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her!

Gesche Funeral Home is serving Ruth’s family.
