Marcella M. Schellinger, age 87, of Loyal, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit, on Sunday, March 22, 1998 at 7:22 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, march 25, 1998 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal. Father Roman Kaiser will officiate and burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 1998 at Rinka Funeral Home, in Loyal, from 5-9 p.m. and at church, on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until time of service. There will be an 8 p.m. prayer service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Ryan Blair, Gregg Stangel, Kevin Sheeban, Jeffrey Castner, Joel Schellinger, and Michael Schellinger.

Marcella Marie Schwieger was born on April 12, 1910, in Loyal, to Ferdinand and Anna (nee Wendel) Schwieger. She was raised on the family farm and was educated at St. Anthony’s parochial school. She was united in marriage to George Schellinger on Jan. 7, 1930 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Together they farmed and raised six children. Her husband died on March 30, 1977. She continued to live in Loyal until moving into Marshfield in 1996. She resided there until the time of her death. Marcella was a very loving mother and enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, and quilting. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and its P.C.C.W.

She is survived by 4 daughters: Gwen (Bob) Sheeban of Milwaukee, Jane (Cal) Castner of Saxeville, Joan (Don) Stangl of Marshfield, Susan (Duane) Holmes of St. Louis, Mo.; 2 sons: Richard (Mary Ann) Shellinger of Allenton and Gary (Mary ) Schellinger of Spencer, 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Evelyn Schwieger of Loyal.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a brother John Schwieger, and 4 sisters: Belle Wehling, Bertha Rueth, Hilda Ley, and Agnes Richmond.
