DeWitt "Scott" Eastman, age 73, of Granton, Wis., died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998 at his home.

"Scott" was born on July 2, 1925 in Milwaukee, Wis., the son of DeWitt and Sabina Eastman, Sr. After his schooling, he enlisted into the United States Navy and served in W. W. II. After the war he returned to Milwaukee and worked for 23 years with the Falk Corporation maintaining their equipment. Scott also worked for the Clark County Historical Society and then became a custodian and locksmith for the Neillsville High School, where he worked for over four years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #3046 in Greenfield, Wis. And he loved all animals very much, especially his dog "Gruntie".

He is survived by his daughters, Chris (Mel) Staver Sr. and Madeleine Eastman, both of Milwaukee, Wis.; a step-son, Frank Hall III of Milwaukee, three step-daughters, Lana Franks of Granton, Helen (Jurgen) Tellock of Wurzburg, Germany and Carla (Mike) Morrow of Granton; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, David (Audrey) Eastman of Wauwatosa, Wis., Charles (Mary) Eastman of Brookfield, Wis., and Wayne (Alice) Eastman of Leads, Mass. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Edward (Ennis) of Milwaukee and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his last wife, Dolores "Lorrie", his parents and a sister, Frances Ennis.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16m 1998 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home. Pastor Craig Conklin of the United Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in the Windfall Cemetery in Granton.

Casket Bearers were James Franks, Tom Franks, Mike Morrow, Mark Ramberg, Jeff Schwingle and Mike Schwingle.

The Gilbertson Funeral Home assisted Scott’s family with arrangements.
