Viergutz, Albertina (9 Nov. 1857 - 29 Oct. 1931)
Mrs. Albert Viergutz, one of the old residents of Lynn, passed away at her home in that town Thursday, Oct. 29, at 2 o’clock p.m. after a long illness with liver trouble.
Mrs. Viergutz, whose maiden name was Albertina Handt, was born in Doeringshagen, Germany, Nov. 9, 1857, and had reached the age of 73 years, 11 months and 20 days at the time of her death. She was married to Albert Viergutz in Friedrickburg, Germany, May 9, 1879. In 1881 they came to Clark County, living in the town of Grant several years then moving to their farm in Lynn where she lived up to the time of her death.
They celebrated their golden wedding May 9, 1929. To this union was born 12 children; two died in infancy; Anna died when 16 years old and Reinhold died last spring. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her departure the eight surviving children: Herman of Lanthan, Canada, Rudolph, Esteban, Canada, Mrs. Wm. Saenger of Fremont; Hattie Ries living in Rochesther; Mrs. Kenneth Langer and Rms. Clark Brooks of Lynn; Mrs. Irene Washburn of Milwaukee and Arthur at home. She leaves also 22 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild and many close friends.
Mrs. Viergutz was a kind and loving mother and a good neighbors, always cheerful and helpful.
The funeral was held Nov. 1 at the home, Rev. Bennett of Lindsey officiating. Interment was made in the Lynn Cemetery. The pall bearers were close relatives.
