I have located the family of Ed & Laura Purkis on the 1905 Clark Co., WI State Census for Unity, household #157 (taken June 1st). The surname was spelled "Perkis".
The information was as follows:
Perkis, Ed--Head, 48 yrs., b. England, parents b. Eng., Farmer, employed 12 mos. of the yr., Renting a farm.
Laura--Wife, 36 yrs., b. Denmark, parents b. Denmark.
Eddie--Son, 18 yrs., b. WI, Farm Laborer
Bessie--Daughter, 16 yrs., b. WI
Willie--Son, 12 yrs., b. WI
Clyde--Son, 3 yrs., b. WI
