Oliver, Evelyn H. (1927 - 19 OCT 2004)

Evelyn H. Oliver, 77, Loyal, died on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at the Neillsville Memorial Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Evelyn Hayes was raised and educated in Michigan until her early teenage years, when her mother moved to Chicago. After completing her education, she was a school bus driver and later was one of the first woman bus drivers for the Chicago Transit Authority. She married John Oliver in Elko, Nev. They lived in Chicago and later divorced. In 1983, she moved to Winter, where she resided until moving to Greenwood in 1993. She resided in the Clark County area to be near her children. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Neillsville. Her interests included spending time with her family, attending her grandchildren’s events, reading the Bible, knitting, and crocheting.

Survivors include her children, Linda Capron, Pearland, Texas, Beverly Oliver, Baytown, Texas, David Oliver, Greenwood, Paul [Rebecca] Oliver, City Point, Sharon [Ken] Goodman, Pearland, Texas, Daniel [Karen] Hanke, Aurora, Ill., Nancy [Dennis] Fox, Carpenterville, Ill., Peggy [Max] Wiman, Muncie, Ind., Matthew Oliver, Ina, Ill., Ruth Oliver, Chicago, and Sarah [Stanley] Prusinski, Loyal; 39 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one half-sister, Henrietta Thomas, Chicago.
