Mills, William (? - 1927)
In addition to the obituary of the late Wm. Mills, that we published last week, we would like to add that the funeral service was conducted in the M. E. Church by the Rev. W. J. James, pastor. Interment was made in the Union Cemetery.
The beautiful floral offerings were silent witnesses to the esteem in which he was held.
Though stricken down in the midst of an active life, and rendered almost helpless, he never complained of his fate but bore his affliction with Christian fortitude. As he told a friend one day soon after he was taken sick, he was resigned to his fate, and ready to meet God at any time.
Who can measure the influence of a Godly life? It lives on and on and though our brother who has lived in this community for forty five years has been called Home he will still live in the memory of his friends. The Tribune joins with a host of friends in extending their sympathy to the bereaved family.
