Kaufmann, Julia (1829 - 26 Jan 1910)
At a ripe old age of over eighty years, Mrs. Julia Kaufmann, mother of Carl and William Standke, departed this life on Jan. 26, 1910, in the town of Cleveland. Mother Kaufmann had been apparently well, retiring on the 25th as usual, when during the night apoplexy brought her sudden end about. She was born in Germany in 1829 and a number of years ago came to this country. She was first married to Carl Standke, who about 41 years ago, died. Later on she was married to Alexander Kaufmann. But this marriage was only of short duration, after which she made her home with her children, especially with her son Carl. The remains were interred in the Garden Valley Cemetery last Friday, Rev. G. J. Pfefferkorn of Augusta, officiating.
