Hein, Theresa (3 JUN 1845 - 16 Mar 1910)

Again the Death Angel has halted his chariot in the village of Humbird, Clark County, Wis., this time at the door of one of the oldest settlers, Mr. Valentine Hein. Mrs. Theresa, wife of the former, was called away from this life on the afternoon of March 16th, 1910, at 1:45 o'clock. She was born in Darer, near Stettin, Germany, June 3, 1845. She came to America with her parents in 1856, and settled in Watertown, Wis. She was married to Mr. Hein on Jan. 7, 1865, and they took up their residence in Humbird in 1872, and have since then made their home here. Five children were born to them, one daughter dying in infancy thirty-five years ago. Two sons, Oscar and William, and one daughter, Mrs. Anna Brandstedter, now reside in Humbird, the other daughter, Mrs. Emma Robellia, living at Ladysmith.

She was ever a faithful wife and mother, bringing cheer to her husband when the sky was overcast, and early instructing her children in their duties to God and the home. While she will be greatly missed by her husband and family, death came as a relief to her on account of her fast failing health. Her faith in God, which began in early years, gave her comfort and cheer to the last.

Rev. A. E. Smith will conduct the funeral services in the Methodist Church at two o'clock on Saturday, March 19th, and the interment will be in the Mentor Cemetery. The sympathy of many friends is extended to the family, and especially to Mr. Hein in the loss of his life companion.
