Clark, Gertrude (20 Augl 1910)
It was a pretty little wedding at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Clark at eight o'clock on Tuesday morning, Aug. 30, 1910, when their only daughter, Miss Gertrude became the wife of Mr. Elmer Lucian Nygaard of Oshkosh.
Their pastor, the Rev. C. B. Lindtwed of St. John's English Evangelical Lutheran Church of Oshkosh, made them husband and wife, using the beautiful ring service as prescribed by the church.
The home was appropriately decorated for the occasion, the ceremony taking place under the wedding bell of evergreen and ivy, supported by festoons of Arbor Vitae. At 10:00 a.m. the bridal party repaired to the dining room and partook of the wedding breakfast prepared by Mrs. C. D. and Miss Alice Fowler, who acquired an enviable reputation as cateresses.
Mr. and Mrs. Nygaard were the recipients of very many gifts as tokens of the love and respect of their numerous friends.
The happy couple departed the noon train for Owen, where Mr. Nygaard will have charge of the public schools for the coming year.
Those present from out of town at the wedding, were Mr. and Mrs. Christian N. Nygaard, parents of the groom, and the Rev. Lindtwed, officiating clergyman.
