Porath, Ernest (27 March 1881 - 13 Dec. 1931)
After nearly five days of unconscious struggle for life Ernest Porath passed away Sunday morning Dec. 13, at the Neillsville hospital, his death being due to injuries received by a fall in his bar Tuesday evening preceding. He never fully regained consciousness after his injury.
Ernest Porath was born in Neillsville, March 27, 1881. He was married to Miss Lilly Yankee, Dec. 5, 1916, and they settled on a farm in the town of Lynn. He was an excellent farmer and took a prominent part in community affairs. At the time of his death he was one of the supervisors of the town of Lynn, a position he had held for several years. His death comes as a sad blow to his wife and family, who have the deepest sympathy of the entire community.
He is survived by his wife and four children: Victor, age 13, Lorraine, 10, Gladys, 8 and Joyce 5; he leaves also two brothers Henry of Lynn and Alfred of Owen; three sisters, Norman, Mrs. Lyle Sero of Granton; Agnes, Mrs. Fred Handt of Beloit, and Emma, Mrs. Ed. Wischuelke of Lynn.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 16, at 1:30, at Schiller’s Funeral Home, Rev. Wendell Bennetts officiating.
