Nemitz, Carl A. (5 AUG 1864 - 13 Jul 1947)
Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. - Funeral services for Carl Nemitz, Sr., 82, who died at 12:25 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Neillsville Hospital, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Georgas Funeral Home and at 2 o'clock at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery, with the Rev. William Lauterbach officiating. The body will be in state at the Georgas Funeral Home until the time of services.
Mr. Nemitz suffered a fractured hip as the result of a fall in the yard of his home on July 8, and was brought to the Neillsville Hospital.
Carl August Nemitz was born Aug. 5, 1864 in Germany, where he received his education. He came to the United States at the age of 21, settling in Clark County, where he was employed at logging, farming, and on railroads. Following his marriage in 1908, he began clearing land on the farm which the family has occupied since that time.
Surviving are his wife, one son, Carl Jr., at home; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Meta) Lange, Racine; one sister, Mrs. August Meihack, and three brothers, William, Henry, and Fred, all of Neillsville. Also surviving are four grandchildren. Two sisters preceded Mr. Nemitz in death.
