Davis, Gordon (16 JUL 1878 - 21 Feb 1964)
Gordon Davis, route 1, Pittsville, Wood Co., Wis., died at 10:15 p.m. Friday at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, Clark County.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Gilbertson Funeral Home at Granton, Clark County. The Rev. Paul Doering, pastor of the Methodist Church at Loyal, will officiate, and burial will be made in the Yolo Cemetery at Chili.
Gordon Davis was born July 16, 1878, in the town of York, Clark County, and received his education in the town of Fremont. His marriage to Viola Brown took place May 20, 1901, at Neillsville. They farmed in the town of Fremont until 1944, when they moved to Chili. They later moved to route 1, Pittsville.
In addition to his wife he leaves a son Arleigh Davis, Verona; four daughters, Mrs. Otto (Flossi) Schmidtke, Granton, Mrs. Charles (Doris) Schwanebeck, Pittsville, Mrs. Richard (Ione) Miller, Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. Norman (Donna) Freedlund, Pittsville; 24 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a brother and a sister.
