Markham, Ira (28 JUN 1886 - 14 Apr 1963)
Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Georgas Funeral Home here for Ira Markham, 76, route 3, Neillsville, who died Sunday evening at Memorial Hospital.
The Rev. Lloyd Mauer, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will take place in the Neillsville Cemetery.. Friends may call at the funeral home until the time of services.
Ira Markham was born on June 28, 1886, in Wisconsin, and was educated in rural schools. He worked for a railroad for a few years, and then came to Clark County, where he operated a farm from 1828 to 1954 when he and his wife retired to make their home with a son, Earl.
His marriage to the former Mattie Pierce took place on Nov. 23, 1911, at Humbird, Clark County.
Mr. Markham had been in ill health the past several years.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Victor (Ina) Anderson, Chili; Mrs. Henry (Mable) Knoll, Granton; and Mrs. Truman (Marie) Sullivan, Milwaukee; three sons, Nathan, Granton; Roy, Marshfield; and Earl, Neillsville; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
