Portz, Roy (10 JUL 1901 - 21 Mar 1977)

Roy Portz, 75, Pittsville, Wood Co., Wis., died Monday evening at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton. The Rev. Dan Carlson, pastor of the Pittsville Evangelical Free Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Yolo Cemetery in the town of Fremont, Clark County.

Visitations May be made after 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Portz was born July 10, 1901, at Waukesha and came tot he town of Fremont as a child with his parents. On Oct. 27, 1935, at Chili, he married the former Neoma Mundt.

After his marriage he lived on a farm in the town of Fremont and served as patrolman for the town of Fremont for 22 years. The couple later moved to Minocqua, and the past seven years they lived in Pittsville.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Darrel, Houston, Texas, and Freddie, Minocqua; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Fredrickson, Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Hazel Schultz, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Nellie Mills, Minocqua, and a brother James, Waukesha.

A sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
