Offord, Beatrice R. (8 Jan 1927 - 28 Feb 2004)
Beatrice R. Offord, 77, Thorp, formerly of Mikana, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, in the Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph’ Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 4:30 p.m., Monday, March 1, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood. Chaplain Steve Sutterer officiated.
Beatrice Rose Busch was born on Jan. 8, 1927, in rural Greenwood, to Fred and Alma [nee Goeke] Busch. She was raised on the family farm, educated at Hemlock School in the town of Longwood, and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1945. After completing her education, she worked at the Farmers Store in Greenwoood for a short time. She married Arles Offord on Sept. 13, 1947, in Greenwood. They farmed south of Withee until their retirement in 1987. They then moved to Mikana, where they lived until 2003. Her husband, Arles, died on Nov. 15, 2003. She then moved to Thorp to live with her daughter, Kathy. She resided there until the time of her death. Her interests included riding snowmobiles and motorcycles with her husband, bird watching, sewing and gardening.
She will be sadly missed by her four sons, Butch [Lori] Offord, Tuscan, Ariz., Dwight Offord, Lublin, Brian [Susan] Offord, Lodi, and Arlen [Mona] Offord, Withee; six daughters, Karen [Tim] Obrycki, South Haven, Minn., Kathy [Eric Kapfer] Osowski, Thorp, Joyce [Jim] Brandl, St. Thomas, N.D., Bonita [John] Wilkinson, Superior, Karleen [Steve] Ritter, Lodi, and Lisa Hawkins, Green Bay; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette Murphy, Black River Falls; and one sister-in-law, Violet Busch, West Bend.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Arles; one grandson, Dallas Johnson; and one brother, Delbert Busch.
The family requests that memorials be given to the American Cancer Society [Hope Lodge], Marshfield.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
