Klessig, Jean (16 AUG 1934 - 21 JUN 2004)
Jean Klessig, 69, Colby, Wisconsin, died Monday, June 21, 2004, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, and from 1:30 p.m. until funeral services begin at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, June 24, at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford. The Rev. Paul Hunsicker will officiate. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Jean Alexander was born Aug. 16, 1934, in the town of Green Grove, Clark County, to Cecil and Evelyn [nee Edblom] Alexander. She was a graduate of Owen High School. She married Ely Klessig on June 19, 1954, in Unity. They lived in the town of Colby. She worked at the Clark County Health Care Center for 18 years. Her interests included traveling, playing sheepshead and going to their cabin in Price County. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North Green Grove.
Survivors include her husband Ely Klessig, Colby; her children, Darrel [Heidi] Klessig, Menomonie, and Darla [Paul] Jagoditsh, Tuscon, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Natalya, Joshua, David and Mark; her mother, Evelyn Alexander, Loyal; and one sister, Janice [Allen] Niemi, Loyal.
Preceding her in death was her father, Cecil Alexander.
