Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Edward W. Gault, Jr., 68, who died Friday at his home in Neillsville. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey of the United Church of Christ officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville cemetery.
Mr. Gault was born July 12, 1890, in Dodge County, the son of the late Edward and Elsie (Cole) Gault. He received his education in the schools of Monroe and Clark counties, and as a youth worked on the home farm. Following his marriage to the former Minnie Gall on June 30, 1915, at Neillsville, he continued to farm until 1924, when they moved to Neillsville. Since 1934, Mr. Gault had been the sexton of the Neillsville cemetery.
He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Dorothy) Brown, Neillsville; and a son Harold, Wausau. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Percy (Mabel) Northup of Neillsville; and a brother, Forrest, Sullivan. Three grandchildren also survive.
The 12 active pallbearers were: Ray Kutsche, Herman Tesmer, Wayne Potter, Everett Skroch, Herb Brown, Ed Rychnovsky, E.H. Snyder, Dave Parry, George Shaw, Ed Beck, John Rhoades, and Henry Wasserburger.
Two hymns, "An Evening of Prayer" and "Beyond the Sunset" were sung by Ellis Wall, accompanied by Mrs. Jack Grether.
