Evers, Jurgen (26 NOV 1831 - 1 JUN 1914)
Jurgen Evers, one of the pioneer residents of Clark County, Wis., died in this village Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anna Krakenberger, where he had been living for the past five years. He was 83 years and six months old, death being mostly due to old age.
The funeral was held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the house and the Salem Evangelical Church, the Rev. W. W. Krueger officiating.
He leaves to mourn his death, three daughters, Mrs. Anna Krakenberger of this village, Mrs. J. H. Hart of Hoquaim, Wash., and Mrs. Wm. Olehoff of Kiel, Wis. Also four sons, Hans and William of this village, Warren L. of Kiel, Wis., and Selden L. of New Holstein.
Jurgen Evers was born Nov. 26, 1831, at New Holstein, Germany, and came to this country about thirty-four years ago, settling on a farm three miles southwest of the village, where he has lived most of the time since. His wife died just sixteen years ago Thursday, June 4.
