Andrew Brecke, next to the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Brecke of the town of Deer Creek, Taylor Co., and well known to nearly everyone in this vicinity, died last Saturday morning at his home at Cayuga, Venice Co., N.Y. He was injured in a runaway accident March 14, and suffered a fracture of the skull. He did not regain consciousness from that time until his death, a period of thirteen days. he was 38 years of age.
He leaves to mourn his sad and untimely death, a wife, two children, a father, a mother, three sisters and five brothers, besides many other relatives and friends.
The body was brought here Tuesday from Cayuga, N.Y., and the funeral conducted by Undertaker E. J. Fuchsgruber, will be held Saturday from the Norwegian Lutheran Church, the Rev. T. S Reishus officiating. Interment will be made in the Norwegian Cemetery.
Andrew Brecke was born on a farm east of this village (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.) in the town of Holton in Nov. 1877, and spent his entire boyhood and young manhood in this vicinity.
