DORCHESTER HERALD (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.) 11/03/1916 Zilk, Joseph Jr.
(1902 - OCT 1916) (Marshfield
Times) Joseph Zilk, aged
14 years and son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zilk of 804 Western St.,
sustained injuries Monday while riding on his father's wagon which
resulted in his death. The boy was
driving the wagon home, and while he was going north on St.
Joseph's St. and turning the corner to West B. St. another lad
tried to climb aboard. Zilk whipped up the horses, and as they
started to run the wagon struck the new concrete curb. The boy was
thrown under the wheels. The fall on the curbing fractured his
skull, but the wagon passing over his chest inflicted the greatest
injury, it is believed. He was removed to St. Joseph's Hospital
with little delay, but died there at 3:15 o'clock the same
afternoon. Deceased was the
youngest of nine children, and was a general favorite at St.
Joseph's Catholic School. The funeral will
be held from St. John's Church tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, Rev.
Joseph F. Volz officiating. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
