Crawford, since 1911 a resident of Abbotsford, Wis., passed away at
his home Monday evening at 8:30, after a lingering illness since
the early part of last winter, the cause of his death being a
complication of diseases. Deceased was born
near Watertown in New York state in the year 1847 and when seven
years of age came with his parents to Wisconsin who located at
Chilton, Calumet Co., which is now part of the present village of
Hilbert. Here the deceased made his home until 1905 when he moved
to the village of Hilbert, residing there until his moving to
Abbotsford. Mr. Crawford was
married in 1878 to Miss Sarah Merrill, to which union were born two
children, Mrs. O. H. Groelle of Abbotsford, and Miss Isla E.
Crawford, who makes her home with her parents. Besides hes wife
and children Mr. Crawford is survived by two sisters, Mrs. C. E.
Sherman of Pardeeville, Wis., and Mrs. Delia Finkham of Fort
Collins, Colo., and one brother, William of Chicago. The remains were
shipped Wednesday night to Chilton where funeral services were held
