Dankemyer, Orville Henry (22 April 1903 - 6 April 1932)

Orville Henry, one of Herman and Minnie Dankemyer was born in the town of Fremont, April 22, 1903, and passed away at St. Joseph’s hospital in Marshfield, April 6, 1932, at the age of 28 years, 11 months and six days. Just three weeks previous he had gone to the hospital for medical treatment, but for a year and a half he has been in poor health, yet for only a few weeks did his family know the seriousness of his illness. He always bore his suffering with patience, so much so that no one knew what he endured, until his strength was exhausted.

The deceased grew to manhood in the community of Chili, where he attended school, and also about two years at the Granton high school, or until the death of his mother, which occurred about 12 years ago.

On Aug. 5, 1926, he was united in marriage to Miss Clara Neinas, also of Chili. He had employment in the store in the village for several years, where he won the esteem of a large number of people. The community has lost a congenial friend and neighbor, one of good character, interested in sports and the welfare of his fellowmen.

He was the youngest of three children, two sisters preceding him in death, one at the age of six months and the other in infancy. There remains to mourn his death a grief stricken companion, his father, step-mother and a larger number of relatives and friends.

The funeral services were held in the Evangelical church in Chili at 2 p.m., April 9, the Rev. G. W. Zimmerman, pastor the church officiating. A quartet consisting of Mrs. Otto Drescher, mrs. Chas. Lindow, Chas. Lindow and Arthur Happe, sang. The bearers were Dr. M. V. Nason, Philip Spry, Alice Felker, Aug. Selk, Erwin Haslow, Walter Lindow. The flower girls were the Misses Lydia, Esther and Adeline Foemmel, Friedat and Mildred Nebel, Madeline and Wanda Dankemyer, Ruby Selk, Olive Murr, Nellie Peters and Laona Moe. Interment was in the Evangelical church cemetery in the town of Fremont near Chili. Contributed.
