Mr. Wendell J. Carter and Miss Irene Thomas were united in marriage at Detroit, Mich., Wednesday evening, March 2, Rev. Chester Emerson performing the ceremony.
The bride wore a dress of powder blue silk crepe, lace net trimmed and a hot of powder blue. She carried a bouquet of white sweet peas, pink rose buds and narcissus. A sister of the groom, Miss Mildred Carter, acted as maid of honor. She wore a beige and lavender gown and a lavender hat and carried a corsage bouquet of lavender sweet peas and white roses. The groom was attended by a friend, Mr. Walter Van Devon of Detroit. After the ceremony a dinner was served at the Northwood Inn, Royal Oak, Mich.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thomas of Greenwood, Rout 5. She graduated from Greenwood high school and took training as a nurse in Sacred Heart Hospital , Eau Claire. After graduating she went to Detroit, where, until her marriage, she had a position in the Receiving Hospital in that city. Those who know her speak very highly of her personal fine qualities and her high professional attainments.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Carter of Detroit. He has an official position with the city, and is a man of good standing.
The bride and groom came to the home of the bride’s parents for a week’s visit after which they returned to Detroit, where they will make their future home.
