SPENCER - Laura A. Nelson, 79, of Spencer died of injuries from an automobile crash Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A memorial service will be held Dec. 11, 2004, at Community Funeral Home in Spencer.

Friends May call from 10 a.m. until service time Dec. 11 at the funeral home.

SPENCER - Laura A. Nelson, 79, of Spencer died as the result of an automobile accident Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Community Funeral Home in Spencer. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

She was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Racine County to Herman and Bessie Mulder. She married Donald Nelson on Dec. 29, 1972, in Racine. Laura was employed in the psychiatry department at Saint Joseph's Hospital. She took particular delight in her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and crafts.

Surviving are her husband, Donald Nelson of Spencer; four children, Thomas Rogers of Fairbanks, Alaska, Gary (Sue) Rogers of Milwaukee, Bruce Rogers of Fairbanks and Barbara (Dave) Kennelly of Mukwonago; and seven stepchildren, Daniel (Lori) Nelson of Chippewa Falls, Karen (Mike) Lentzen of Cheshire, Conn., Steve (Elke) Nelson of Fall Creek, Tom (Gayle) Nelson of Spencer, Robert Nelson of Nebraska, Kim Hudech of Fall Creek and Paul Nelson of Chippewa Falls. She is further survived by 35 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Bill Mulder of Texas, Alice Mulder of Union Grove, Fred Mulder of Hartford, Barbara (Warren) Caskey of Racine and Sandy Mulder of Racine.

She was predeceased by a sister, Pearl, and her first husband, Gaylord Rogers.
