Niznik, Paul A. , Sr. (5 July 1918 - 15 Dec. 2004)

WITHEE -Paul A. Niznik Sr., 86, of the town of Maplehurst died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Medford.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, and Sunday at the Hemer Funeral Home in Medford. Visitation also will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church in Lublin.

He was born July 5, 1918, to John and Anastasia (Sitarski) Niznik. He married Mary A. Mis on Oct. 5, 1940, at Holy Trinity Church in Lublin. Paul and his family dairy farmed in the town of Maplehurst for 40 years. He also worked as a road crew foreman and surveyor for 35 years at the Taylor County Highway Department, retiring in 1980.

He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Niznik of Withee; six sons, Paul Jr. (Nancy) Niznik, Medford, Robert (Roberta) Niznik, Plymouth, Minn., Ronald Niznik, Stetsonville, Gary Niznik, Eau Claire, Jerry (Kye) Niznik, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dan (Pam) Niznik, Medford; four daughters, Bonnie (Steve) Pawelko, Rhinelander, Marlene (Dave) Rhyner, Stetsonville, Pauline (Lee) Williams, Owen, and Sherrie (Carl) Knable, Puyallup, Wash.; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Rohland and Rose Skinner, both of Owen.
