Spencer - Fire broke out in the roof of G. Wendell’s blacksmith shop, Monday forenoon, and but for the prompt response to the alarm, the buildings would have burned and with the high wind at the time, it would have been impossible to save the west end of the village.
Spencer - The office of Dr. Clark of Unity, was destroyed by fire last Thursday night. The fire is supposed to have been caused by a lamp exploding. The doctor had just time enough to escape with an armful of clothing which he caught up as soon as he discovered the fire, as the whole front part of the building was a mass of flames. The loss is partially covered by insurance.
