WINCH-HELD September, 1945

Wearing a white wool suit and a shoulder corsage of white chrysanthemums and pompons, Miss Mavis Colleen HELD, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William HELD, Racine, became the bride of Arthur J. WINCH, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan WINCH, Chili. The wedding took place at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Arthur Kelly reading the vows. Gladioli and chrysanthemums decorated the altar. The bride carried a crystal rosary.

Attendants were Mrs. Lucille BARTOW and Mrs. Esther MARKUS, sisters of the bride, Seaman First Class Donald M. BARTOW and Jack JOHNSON, the latter the bride's cousin. Both Mrs. BARTOW and Mrs. MARKUS wore navy blue frocks and corsages of rust colored chrysanthemums and yellow pompons.

Mrs. DECHANIT was organist.

Later a reception was held for 100 guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. HELD, the bride's parents. The bridal party was entertained also, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. VESTERGUND.

Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Dan WINCH, Herbert, Roger, and Norman WINCH, Miss Alice LEY, Chili; Fireman 2nd Class Leonard BROWNE, Kansas City, KS; Frank G. CARTER, Seaman First Class, North Dakota; Second Lt Robert N. JENSEN, who returned to the states recently as a liberated prisoner of war of Germany.

Mrs. Lucille BARTOW entertained at a shower for the bride at the home of Mrs. Charles BARTOW recently.
