Grabara, George Sr. (3 NOV 1901 - 13 Sep 1970)
Greenwood, Clark County, Wis. - Services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hill Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church for George Grabara Sr., 68, of Greenwood, who died at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital.
The Rev. Leander Koopman, pastor, will officiating and burial will be made in St. Mary's parish cemetery. Friends May call at the funeral home beginning today. A general rosary service will be held there at 8 o'clock this evening (Monday).
Mr. Grabara was born in Germany Nov. 3, 1901, and was married there Dec. 13, 1925, to Mary Hilgarth. The couple came to the U. S. in 1926 and lived in Kenosha and Milwaukee until 1948, when they came to Greenwood. They operated a locker plant here until 1950, and then opened the Greenwood Bakery.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. William (Mary) Weiss, Appleton, Wis.; and Mrs. Jerome (Elizabeth) Sowieja, Greenwood; a son, George Grabara Jr., Greenwood; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, , Mrs. William Jessel, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Joseph Schmidt, South America; a brother, William in West Germany; and two half-sisters, also in Germany.
