Happe, Alma M. (29 DEC 1889 - 15 Dec 1985)
Chili, Clark County, Wis., died at 12:10 a.m. Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital Hospice Care Unit where she was admitted Friday.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Chili. The Rev. Calvin Carey will officiate. Sharon Menke will be the organist for congregational singing. Burial will be in Immanuel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hansen Funeral Home, and then at the church after noon Wednesday until time of service.
Pallbearers will be Ronald, William and Donald Happe, Simon Fischer, Irwin Rusch and Marlyn Lindow.
Alma M. Happe was born Dec. 29, 1889 in Lomira, Dodge, Co., a daughter of William R. and Lydia (Happe) Messner. She never married.
At the age of 11, she moved to Chili with her parents. She lived there until moving to Naperville, Ill. to attend North Central College, where she received a bachelor's degree in education. She later received her master's degree from the University of Wisconsin.
She taught a Stockton, Ill. for four years, then taught school for 37 years in secondary education at Rochelle, Ill., then retired and moved back to Chili.
Surviving is one sister, Elda Happe, Chili.
She was predeceased by her parents, one brother and one sister.
