Hodges, Edwin I. (1 Dec 1875 - 23 Jan 1942)
Chili, Clark County, Wis. - Edwin Ira Hodges, 66, died this morning at his home in Chili following a lingering illness.
The body will lie in state at the Co-operative Fuenral Home, Marshfield, from Saturday noon until Sunday afternoon, when it will be taken to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Bartz, Chili.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Bartz home and at 2 o'clock at Immanuel Evangelical Church, Chili, the Rev. Philip Koeneke officiating. Burial will be made there.
Mr. Hodges was born in Warren, Ill., Dec. 1, 1875, and was married in 1897 in Charles City, Iowa, to Anna Streblow. After their marriage in Charles City, the Hodges lived there for a time and then lived for 12 years at Nasonville. For the past 13 years they resided at Chili.
Surviving besides his widow, are six children, Mrs. Mildred Bartz, Chili; Mrs. Inez Patek,, Marshfield; Miss Edna Hodges, Milwaukee; Otis and Orrel Hodges, Chili; and Melvin, Marshfield; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Tresmer, Fort Collins, Colo., and Mrs. Nellie Heroum, Longmont, Colo.; a brother, E. J. Hodges, Algoma, Iowa; and 14 grandchildren.
A son, Paul, and three brothers preceded him in death.
