Wankovich, Edna H. (21 Jan. 1918 - 23 Dec. 2004)
Edna H. Wankovich, 86, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, in Palliative Care of Saint Joseph's Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hansen Funeral Home in Marshfield. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park in Racine. Friends May call from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Wankovich was born Jan. 21, 1918, in a log cabin in the town of Pine Valley. She was the daughter of Artemas and Vera (Lloyd) Shumway. She moved to Racine after graduating from Neillsville High School in 1936. Edna was married to James at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Racine on June 27, 1942.
Edna is lovingly survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Fred) Strickland, Marshfield; a granddaughter; and three great grandchildren. The family has asked that memorials in Edna's name be gifted to the Alzheimer Association.
