Anderegg, Hedwig (29 Augl 1928)
On Wednesday afternoon, August 29, 1928, at the Cargill Home, LaCrosse Wis., took place the marriage of Hedwig Anderegg, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Anderegg of that city and Stanley E. Rekow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Rekow, of Loyal. The Rev. Julius T. Gamm, pastor of First Lutheran church, performed the ceremony at two o’clock. Vows were exchanged before a banking of ferns, palms and gladioli in one corner of the large drawing room. Before the ceremony Miss Marcella Bartz sang D’Hardelot’s "Because." The wedding marches were played by Walter Albrecht.
Miss Elsie Rekow, the bridegrooms’ sister, and Rueben H. Anderegg, brother of the bride, attended the couple. The dresses of the bride and bridesmaid were made bouffant style. That of the bride was of white satin and lace and she wore the wedding veil her mother wore at her marriage 34 years ago. Her shower bouquet was of bride’s roses. The bridesmaid was in pink georgette and carried a bouquet of mixed flowers..
A reception for 100 at Cargill Home followed the ceremony.
On their honeymoon Mr. and Mrs. Rekow are to visit for two weeks at Devil’s Lake, N. D. They will be at home after September 21 in this village where the bridegroom holds a responsible position with the Citizen State bank. The bride is a graduate of Central high and State Teachers college at La Crosse, and held the position of assistant principle and English teacher in our local High School the past four years.
Prenuptial party hostesses for the bride were Miss Lucy Berarek, at whose entertainment she was presented with an electric iron and board. Miss Lillian Bitzer, when the gifts were set of Pyrex cooking utensils and a sandwich basket, Mrs. John Schmidt and Mrs. Joseph Mark, at whose party the bride receive a dozen sherbets, and Mrs. John Bergen, the gift at the party being a dozen Goblets. Showers given in this village were by Mrs. Ernest Rekow, Mrs. Alfred Kreiser and Mrs., Bert Leatherdale when the gifts were and electric coffee urn and electric toaster, and by the Loyal High School students who presented the bride with a picture.
The couple are well known and highly respected in this community. The bride is an accomplished and talented young lady, and possesses a pleasing personality which has endeared her to her wide circle of friends. The bridegroom is a young man of sterling worth, capable and industrious.
The Tribune with many friends extend hearty congratulations and best wishes.
