Werner. Mathilda Kupka was
born in Grosz Lipke, Provinz Posen, Germany and was the youngest of
a family of seven. In the year of 1881 she immigrated with her
husband to America and landed here on Xmas day. In the spring of
the same year they moved to the farm 2 3/4 miles northwest of
Dorchester, Clark County, which was then a wilderness, and which
she helped to make what is now the old homestead. It was here she
has resided all her life. During her illness
she was tenderly cared for by her loving husband and children whose
efforts never failed to please and comfort her, and who were all at
her bedside when the end came. She was the mother
of 14 children, two sons, Carl and Herman, dying in infancy. She is
survived by her husband and five sons and seven daughters, Wm.,
Otto, Hugo, Paul and Frank, and Mrs. John Meschefske of
Stetsonville, Mrs. Franklin Tonn of Curtiss, Mrs. Miron Virch of
Peshtigo, Martha, Bertha, Hattie and Gertrude, 23 grandchildren, 2
sisters and one brother in Germany. Mrs. Schultz was a woman who
believed and trusted in God, a loving wife, a helpful sister, an
excellent mother, and a true friend who will be greatly missed by
all who knew her. Another kind friend and neighbor gone to the
reward she so richly deserves. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
