Thompson died Tuesday, Sept. 18th, 1923, and was buried from the
Abbotsford Presbyterian Church, Thursday, Sept. 20th, Rev. Von Bush
officiating, assisted by Rev. Knutson, an old friend of the
deceased. The remains were then taken to Dorchester and laid at
rest in the Baptist Cemetery, Louis Larson, Chris Bremer, Mr.
Carlson, John P. Olson and John A. Olson acting as pallbearers. Mr. Thompson was a
fine Christian man and met the end gladly. Thomas Thompson
was born in Dragra, Norway, April 13, 1856 and died Sept. 18, 1923.
He came to this country with his parents and sisters in 1872 and
remained in Oconomowoc a year and a half. In 1873 the family came
to Abbotsford and settled on the homestead which has been his home
since then. On Jan. 2, 1892,
he was united in marriage to Mary Thompson. Six children were born
to them, Maurice C., Olin R. Minnette Alice, Lloyd Thomas and John
Raymond, and a baby girl, who died in infancy.. Besides his wife
and children he leaves to mourn his loss, two sisters, Mrs. Nels
Laveen and Mrs. Helen Anderson of Chicago, and her daughter, Alice,
also of Chicago. Two grandchildren, Margery and Maurice Thomas of
