CLARION (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) 09/19/1924 Suennen, Nicholas
(11 Sep 1842 - 11 Sep 1924) Friends were
shocked to learn that Nicholas Suennen passed away at his home in
the town of Holton, Thursday, Sept. 11th, 1924, at the age of 82
years. The cause of his demise was old age. Funeral services were
held Monday A.M. from St. Louis Catholic Church, Rev. Paul
Pitzenberger officiating. He was laid at rest in the cemetery south
of the village (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.). Al Stroota, A. P.
Miller, John Schefsick, W. Schumacher Sr., Nick Decker, and John
Pinter acting as pallbearers. Mr. Suennen was
born Sept. 11, 1842 in Wellenstein, Luxembourg, where he grew to
manhood. In 1885 he was married to Miss Susanna Guendling, and to
this union six children were born, 3 deceased and 3 living, who
with the widow survive him. In 1872 they immigrated tot he U.S. and
made their home in Wisconsin. About 17 years ago they moved to
their present home. Relatives from out
of town present at the funeral were Mrs. Margarette Schrier,
Seneca, Kan., Mrs. John Greener, Chicago, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. C.
