died at the home of his brother-in-law Wm. Hennlich, Sunday, Nov.
2nd, 1924, of cancer of the stomach, after an illness of about six
months, the last two weeks being spent in bed. The funeral was
conducted from the St. Louis Church Wednesday, Rev. Father
Pitzenberger officiating. The pallbearers were Leopold Stelzel, Joe
Miller, R. Umlauft, Ott and Adolph Kallepp and George Stumpf. Joseph Dengler was
born in Bohemia July 28, 1859 and was 65 years, 3 months and 4 days
old. On Oct. 26, 1890 he was united in marriage to Mary Hennlich in
Bohemia. Six children were born to them, only one, a daughter, Mrs.
Johanna Harshaw, of Milwaukee, is living. On. Oct. 31st, 1905 Mrs.
Dengler died and on May 15th, 1906, Mr. Dengler immigrated to the
United States, coming to Dorchester, Clark County, Wis. and making
his home with the Wm. Hennlich family. Though his illness was
attended with much suffering he was patient and good, and endeared
himself tot hose about him. His daughter was
with him during the last part of his illness and aided in
ministering lovingly to him. Those from out of
town who attended the obsequies were Mr. and Mrs. R. Harshaw, Mrs.
Martha Seidler, Mrs. Edith Eckert and Mrs. Kate Withiger, all of
